Pompeii Bahia - gray quartz that looks like marble
We have already fabricated and installed kitchens countertops with Pompeii Bahia. After 28 years of my husband's experience in the world of marble, we think that among the shades of gray marble, one of the quartz that most resembles a real marble is Pompeii Bahia.
I am going to share with you some photos of our fabrication process and details of how Pompeii Bahia Quartz countertops looks installed.
Template -
As you know we or your fabricator will visit your home to make the countertops templates on your cabinets, so we can take them to the shop and start the fabrication process.
These photos are part of the process, and in them you can see a part of the before and after.
Making templates is a delicate process which requires a lot of precision to be taken into account. In many occasions the owner of the project will talk to us, but it is important to only make conversations to highlight some important details of the countertops, but if that is not the purpose of the conversation I advise you to let the fabricator to concentrate. Every kitchen has its own observations, not all kitchens have the same details.
Installation - How Pompeii Bahia countertops look installed, it is resembles real marble ?
Resemble #1 - Venning
The veining of this gray quartz closely mimics the natural veining of marble. These veins resemble the organic patterns seen in real marble slabs, as for example a type of a gray marble Venatino.
Resemble #2 - Polished Finish
To enhance the resemblance to marble, quartz brands focus on giving it a polished finish when they seek to imitate the lustrous look of polished marble. Resemble #3 - Pattern
The general pattern in this gray Pompeii quartz Bahia, resembles one of the variations of Venatino marble. The general pattern of natural gray marble varies from slab to slab, that is one of the beauties of marble.

I think that resembles marble, and I like that requires minimal maintenance compared to natural marble, which requires sealing. Quartz is non-porous and easy to clean, typically needing only mild soap and water.

This pattern is the perfect way to add style without detracting attention from a focal point. Each piece of white marble has 45-degree cutouts on the end of each and come decoratively laid around a rectangular piece of gray marble. All of the backsplash samples that I liked are marble. At this point I think that there are few quartz countertops that actually resemble marble, it is perhaps because of those that I believe the choice of a marble backsplash can favorably and significantly influence the overall look of the kitchen.
